was the founder and member of Cleveland Concert Band back in 2007.
Music had always been a part of his life. Keith served in the
British Army for 12 years and was part of the Green Howards
regiment. Over the course of his life Keith played with a number
of bands across the North East. He was well known for his sense of
humour and wit as well as been a brilliant musician. In 2007 he
formed the Cleveland Concert Band and was there MD for 11 years
and over them years he helped the band grow in size. Keith wasnt
just seen as the Musical Director, he was seen as a fond friend by
all who came to the band. Whether it was just for a blow or to
join, you always left feeling happy. Unfortunatley in 2017 Keith
was given some heart breaking news, he was diganosed with cancer.
However despite this news Keith didn't dwell on it, he kept his
spirits high and continued to put all the effort he could into the
band. On 18th November 2018 Keith made the decision to pass the
baton over to our new MD, Dave Prest. While Keith wasnt our active
MD anymore he still played a big role in the band, by keeping the
website up to date and chovered the trailer to concerts. As the
year went by Keith had to then step down and take retirement. He
enjoyed his rest and enjoyed listening to the band from his home.
Keith sadly passed away on the 1st August 2019. The band was his
life and he will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace Keith
