Cleveland Concert Band was formed in January 2007 by a very small group of dedicated musicians who came from Middlesbrough, Eston, Northallerton, Guisborough, New Marske, Redcar, Dormanstown and other places surrounded by the Cleveland Hills in the North East of England. We have grown steadily in numbers since our first rehearsal of only ten players. Many of our playing members bring with them vast amounts of experience from playing with other bands or orchestras, we even have ex-military musicians within our group. This Windband is made up of people from all walks of life and age groups. Our youngest player was just 9yrs old when they started and our oldest is into their 80's. Every member of our band is willing to help others to improve in their ability to play good entertaining music. That's what makes this band stand out from others, no matter what the age or ability, the Cleveland Concert Band are a happy bunch of friendly musicians to be associated with and enjoy what they do. You don't have to be a great player to sit in on a rehearsal. It doesn't matter how long you have been playing just as long as you enjoy music and can read music to a fair level. Don't be shy, give us a try. The band can be engaged at a very reasonable cost for concerts. We also actively support local charities who would like to raise money for good causes. We are a very happy band that will always give our audience a great concert to remember, for all the right reasons. The band can perform music such as the Old time songs, Dance, Jazz, songs from the top musical shows as well as perform some of the modern pop songs to make most occasions that bit special. We have something for every member of the family to enjoy and we don't charge a fortune for live music like some concert windbands. Our practice night is every Tuesday from 7p.m. until 9p.m.at the new Middlesbrough College, on Dock Street TS2 1AD , near to the Transporter Bridge. Click here to see Map. If you have your own wind instrument, (Brass or Woodwind) and can read music to a moderate standard then we would like to hear from you. it doesn't matter how old you are either. Most people are welcome to come along to have a blow with us or to just pop in for a listen. You never know, you might enjoy it as much as we do and you don't have to join the band to have a practice or two with us. You will not be disappointed with what you hear. If you wish to know more about us then you can contact us at any time, our contact details are below. We hope that you enjoy viewing our website and do call back again soon to see what's new.
