I started
playing the clarinet at school when I was 11 and enjoyed playing in
various school groups.
After moving to
the area, family and other commitments took priority, and the
clarinet remained in the case.
I recently
decided I wanted to imrprove my playing and join a band, so I dug
out my daughter's instrument (better than mine!) and started to
practise again.
In the
meantime, I developed an interest in playing the recorder. I am a
member of the Durham branch of the Society of recorder Players and
also meet regulary with friends to play a broad range of music from
the Renaissance to the 21st century.
I also sing in
our church music group. This is the first time I have played in a
band of this type.
I try to keep
fit by running and swimming. I love being outside and together with
my husband, enjoy exploring hidden parts of Yorkshire.
I don't like
chocolate, wasps and wearing skirts. I love brightly coloured
trousers, pencils and managing our 'random' cottage garden.
